Muscat – The Fak Kurbah initiative secured the release of 357 detainees across the sultanate this Ramadan by the second week as part of the ongoing humanitarian effort aimed at helping insolvent individuals imprisoned for financial violations. Now in its 13th edition, the initiative continues to bring relief to families by settling outstanding financial obligations and enabling detainees to reunite with their loved ones during the sacred month. According to figures released by Omani Lawyers’ Association, organisers of Fak Kurbah, Muscat governorate saw the highest number of releases with 184 cases, followed by North Batinah (67) and Dakhliyah (31). Other governorates also benefited from the campaign, including South Batinah (23), Dhofar (17) and North Sharqiyah (12). South Sharqiyah recorded nine releases, while Buraimi saw seven cases, Dhahirah six and Al Wusta one. Organisers said the effort reflects the strong spirit of solidarity and compassion that marks the holy month, noting that Fak Kurbah relies on the generosity of donors and the support of community members. They urged individuals, companies and charitable organisations to continue supporting Fak Kurbah to help secure the release of more detainees and reunite families during Ramadan.
