Fan Zone opens in Al Khuwair Square ahead of Sultan’s Cup final

Muscat – A Fan Zone opened at Al Khuwair Square on Tuesday as part of the activities accompanying the Sultan’s Cup Football Trophy Tour 2025–2026. The opening was officiated by H E Basil bin Ahmed al Rawas, Undersecretary for Sports in the Ministry of Culture, Sports and Youth, and drew a strong public turnout, reflecting the interest in Oman’s most prestigious football competition. The zone will welcome visitors daily until February 14, from 5pm to 11pm, offering a wide range of entertainment and community activities for all age groups. Attractions include food corners, photo exhibitions, the Sultan’s Cup display, traditional handicrafts, youth zones, a dedicated children’s area, as well as electronic, interactive and physical games. Competitions, prizes and folk performances showcasing Omani heritage are also part of the programme. The Sultan’s Cup Trophy Tour began on Monday, marking its third stop in Al Khuwair after visiting Muttrah and Bausher. The tour is designed to increase community engagement with the tournament and give fans a close-up view of the country’s most coveted football trophy. The initiative also highlights the tourism, development and sporting potential of Muscat’s wilayats, while underlining ongoing efforts to advance the sports sector and expand its social impact. It provides a platform for public interaction and a festive sporting atmosphere. The final of the Sultan’s Cup will take place on February 14 at Sultan Qaboos Sports Complex in Bausher, where Oman Club will face Al Nahda in a highly anticipated showdown to crown this season’s champion.
