Fiber Connect forum opens in Muscat with focus on AI-ready networks

Muscat – The 15th annual Fiber Connect Council MENA Conference and Exhibition opened in Muscat on Monday, highlighting the expansion of fibre optic infrastructure and its growing integration with artificial intelligence. The two-day event has drawn more than 270 industry leaders, policymakers and technical experts, who are discussing advances in fibre networks, AI-enabled systems and their role in accelerating digital transformation across the region. The conference was held under the patronage of H H Dr Adham bin Turki al Said, who said the event reinforces national efforts to strengthen digital infrastructure and underlines the central role of fibre optic networks in enabling digital transformation. Sultan bin Ahmed al Wahaibi, CEO of Oman Broadband Company, said the firm’s participation reflects its role as a national entity leading the implementation of strategic digital infrastructure plans. Dr Alaa Mousa, President of the Fiber Connect Council MENA, said advanced economies continue to consolidate their position as global digital hubs.
