Foreign Minister urges global pressure to halt war on Iran

Muscat – H E Sayyid Badr Al Busaidi, Foreign Minister has convened a high-level diplomatic meeting in Muscat to underscore the urgent need for a cessation of the ongoing military operations led by Israel and the United States against Iran. During the session held on March 7, the Minister met with a broad group of international envoys, including ambassadors from non-EU European nations, the United States, Brazil, and Turkey. The briefing also included representatives from the Gulf Cooperation Council states, Iraq, Jordan, and Egypt. H E Sayyid Badr emphasised that the highest priority must be given to intensifying political and diplomatic pressure to stop the war and address its devastating repercussions on regional security. He noted that the current situation poses unprecedented challenges to the stability and safety of the region’s peoples, requiring coordinated international action. He reiterated Oman’s firm stance that ending the conflict is a supreme national and regional interest that must be pursued through dialogue rather than force.
