Muscat – The member states of the Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC) have formally pledged to defend their sovereignty against ongoing Iranian military actions, asserting their right to retaliate if further provocations occur. Following an emergency summit conducted via video link, foreign ministers from the United Arab Emirates, Bahrain, Saudi Arabia, Oman, Qatar, and Kuwait issued a collective declaration regarding their unified security posture. During the high-level proceedings, the ministers conducted a comprehensive review of the extensive damage caused by what they described as treacherous strikes on their respective territories. The assembly focused on the implementation of strategic measures aimed at restoring regional stability and safeguarding the lives of both citizens and residents. The concluding statement emphasised that the six nations are prepared to take all necessary steps to maintain their security, explicitly including the option of responding to aggression with force. Furthermore, the GCC leadership called for an immediate end to the hostilities, noting that the security of the Gulf serves as a critical pillar for global economic stability and international energy markets.
