H M Sultan Haitham holds talks with global leaders on regional crisis

Muscat – His Majesty Sultan Haitham bin Tarik received telephone calls on Tuesday from President Shavkat Mirziyoyev of Uzbekistan, President Samia Suluhu Hassan of Tanzania and President Guy Parmelin of Switzerland. The calls focused on the rapidly evolving situation stemming from the ongoing war in the region and its repercussions on regional and international security and stability. The leaders exchanged views on the mounting humanitarian and economic consequences, underscoring the urgent need to contain tensions and prevent further escalation. They stressed that the crisis must be addressed with wisdom and foresight, calling for an immediate ceasefire, de-escalation and a return to dialogue. The leaders reaffirmed that political and diplomatic solutions remain the only viable path to restoring stability and safeguarding the interests of nations and their peoples. The discussions also reflected Oman’s continued engagement with international partners to support efforts aimed at promoting peace, stability and constructive dialogue during a period of heightened regional uncertainty.
