Indian School Darsait inaugurates multipurpose court in grandeur

Muscat – Indian School Darsait inaugurated its much-awaited Multipurpose Court with great enthusiasm on February 10, at the school campus. The occasion marked a significant milestone in the school’s sustained efforts to promote sports, physical fitness, and the holistic development of students. Syed Ahmad Salman, Chairman, Board of Directors, Indian Schools in Oman, graced the occasion as the Chief Guest and formally inaugurated the Multipurpose Court in the presence of an august gathering of distinguished dignitaries, that included the Board of Directors, principals of other Indian Schools, members of the School Management Committee besides staff members, parents and students. Neeraja Pramod Nair, Deputy Sports Captain, welcomed the gathering. In his inaugural address, the Chief Guest lauded the collective efforts of the school management, administrators, staff and parents for their unwavering commitment in making the first phase of the project a reality. He emphasized the importance of providing quality sports infrastructure to nurture discipline, teamwork and a healthy lifestyle among students. He further stated that the new facilities would also help for the future cluster tournaments. He went on to congratulate Indian School Darsait for its outstanding accomplishments. Shalimar Moideen, President, School Management Committee, delivered the presidential address and reaffirmed the institution’s commitment to providing facilities of international standards, enabling students to excel in physical education and sports. He also expressed his sincere gratitude to the former members of the School Management Committee for their unwavering support and for the significant steps taken towards the development of the school’s infrastructure and dedicated the Multipurpose Court to the ISD Alumni in recognition of their lasting bond with the institution. The programme featured energetic aerobics display by students, showcasing their coordination, flexibility and agility. This was followed by a spectacular exhibition basketball match between Power Dribblers (Class XI) and Sky Dunkers (Class XII), which kept the audience enthralled till the very end. In the closely contested match, Sky Dunkers emerged as the winners, while Power Dribblers were declared the runners-up. Medals, certificates and trophies were presented to the teams by the Chief Guest and other dignitaries. The programme concluded with a vote of thanks proposed by Sreedev Sreejith, Deputy Sports Captain.
