Muscat – Ministry of Labour (MoL) has officially declared the regulated working hours for the upcoming holy month of Ramadan, in strict accordance with the Labour Law. To support the religious observances of the workforce, the Ministry has mandated that the maximum working duration for Muslim employees should’nt exceed 6 hours per day or a total of 30 hours per week. This seasonal adjustment aims to balance professional obligations with the spiritual and physical requirements of fasting during this significant period. In addition to the general reduction in hours, the Ministry highlighted specific provisions for working parents. Under the current regulations, breastfeeding employees are entitled to one dedicated nursing hour per day, ensuring that familial needs are protected alongside workplace productivity. Employers across all sectors are expected to comply with these directives during the month of Ramadan.
