Muscat – Oman reaffirmed its steadfast commitment to responsible regional diplomacy, underscoring the primacy of dialogue and de-escalation amid ongoing tensions on Wednesday. The sultanate reiterated its firm call for an immediate ceasefire and a return to dialogue as the only viable path to resolving conflicts. It stressed that diplomacy, mutual respect and constructive engagement remain essential to safeguarding regional security and preventing further escalation. In a statement posted on X, H E Sayyid Badr Al Busaidi, Foreign Minister, said, “To the very large number of people who have been in touch from all four corners of the globe: Oman appreciates the support you have shown for our efforts to stop the war. Strengthened by your solidarity, Oman reaffirms its call for an immediate ceasefire and a return to responsible regional diplomacy. There are off-ramps available. Let’s use them.” Oman affirmed that it will continue working closely with partners across the international community to advance responsible diplomacy and ensure that all available channels are utilised in pursuit of lasting peace. H E Sayyid Badr held a meeting on Tuesday evening with the ambassadors of European Union member states accredited to Oman. The meeting formed part of ongoing diplomatic efforts to address the challenges posed by the war in the region and its repercussions. On Wednesday, the Foreign Minister met ambassadors of ASEAN member states to Oman, also as part of ongoing diplomatic endeavors concerning the war and to address the grave ramifications of the conflict for the region and the need to contain the escalation.
