Muscat – H E Sayyid Badr, Foreign Minister and the Prime Minister of Malaysia have issued a joint call for an immediate cessation of military operations, describing the current situation as a “US-Israeli war on Iran.” In a high-level telephone conversation, the two leaders confirmed the complete alignment of their nations’ positions regarding the urgent need to halt hostilities and address the widening humanitarian and economic fallout. During the discussions, both parties emphasised that the priority must be given to diplomatic efforts to stop the conflict, which they noted has begun to impact several neighbouring countries. The leaders expressed grave concern over the “targeting of neighbouring states,” warning that such escalations threaten to destabilise the entire Middle Eastern region and draw in neutral parties. Beyond the immediate security implications, the Foreign Minister and the Malaysian Prime Minister highlighted the severe consequences the war is having on international commerce. They noted that the conflict has directly affected global supply chains and maritime navigation, particularly in the strategic waterways essential for energy and goods. The two officials concluded by reaffirming their commitment to regional stability, stating that the continued disruption of shipping and the global economy is an unsustainable byproduct of the ongoing military aggression. Both Oman and Malaysia pledged to continue their political consultations to pressure the international community into enforcing a ceasefire and returning to the path of dialogue.
