Oman mediates indirect Iran-US nuclear negotiations in Geneva

Geneva, Switzerland – H E Sayyid Badr bin Hamad al Busaidi, Foreign Minister, held a bilateral meeting in Geneva, Switzerland, with Dr Sayyid Abbas Araghchi, Foreign Minister of Iran. The discussions took place within the framework of ongoing indirect negotiations between Iran and the United States, which are being held under the auspices of the Sultanate of Oman. The meeting focused on the latest developments regarding the Iranian nuclear file and the specific proposals the Iranian side intends to present to reach a comprehensive agreement. During the talks, the ministers reviewed perspectives based on the guiding principles established during previous rounds of negotiations. Sayyid Badr reaffirmed Oman’s steadfast commitment to facilitating dialogue and narrowing the gap between the two parties to achieve sustainable solutions for Iran’s nuclear programme. Following this session, the Omani Foreign Minister is scheduled to meet with the American negotiating team to convey the Iranian viewpoints and discuss the ideas and perceptions proposed by the United States.
