ONEIC wins RO31.9mn contract for grid station at Sultan Haitham City

Muscat – Oman National Engineering & Investment Company (ONEIC) has secured a contract worth RO31.9mn from Oman Electricity Transmission Company (OETC) for the construction of a key power infrastructure project. In a disclosure to the Muscat Stock Exchange, ONEIC on Sunday said the contract, awarded by OETC involves the construction of a 132/33kV grid station at Sultan Haitham City. The scope of work also includes associated 132kV overhead transmission lines connecting Mabella Industrial Grid Station to Mabella Grid Station. The total contract value stands at RO31,899,948, and the project will be executed over a period of 18 months from the date of award, ONEIC said. The company expects to gain diversified experience and generate substantial revenues from the contract over its implementation period. ONEIC said the project forms part of several significant contracts recently awarded to the company, reflecting its continued technical advancement and expertise in specialised engineering works. The award further strengthens ONEIC’s position in the power transmission and grid infrastructure segment as it continues to support major development projects in the sultanate. Following the news of this major contract award, ONIEC shares surged 7.7% at the Muscat Stock Exchange on Sunday.
