Muscat – The fifth edition of the Tkatuf Gulf Exhibition opened in Bausher, bringing together more than 140 designers, creatives and entrepreneurs from Oman, the UAE and Bahrain, in a showcase aimed at boosting small and medium enterprises (SMEs) and Gulf business collaboration. Held from February 5 to 7, the three-day exhibition was organised by H H Sayyida Hujaija bint Jaifer al Said in strategic partnership with the Authority of Small and Medium Enterprises Development (Riyada) and the Oman Chamber of Commerce and Industry, with support from the Oman Energy Association and Oman LNG (OPAL). The event was inaugurated under the patronage of H H Dr Raya Qais al Said, in the presence of public- and private-sector officials, entrepreneurs and economic stakeholders. H H Sayyida Hujaija said the exhibition continues to serve as a platform for empowering SMEs by combining sales opportunities, product display and capacity building. “This edition features a wide range of sectors that reflect the richness of Gulf creativity and respond to market needs,” she said. A key highlight this year was the launch of the Tkatuf Entrepreneurs Programme, offered free to participants. The programme seeks to raise awareness of services provided by government entities supporting SMEs, in coordination with the Ministry of Commerce, Industry and Investment Promotion, Riyada, Oman Development Bank and the Social Protection Fund. The programme includes specialised sessions on marketing strategies, administrative and financial management, as well as presentations of success stories from previous editions, offering practical models for aspiring entrepreneurs. Linking academia with industry, students from Oman Tourism College also took part in organising the exhibition, gaining hands-on experience to complement their studies and strengthen their professional skills. Building on the momentum of earlier editions, the exhibition has reinforced its role as a trusted platform for entrepreneurs, supporting SME growth, enhancing Gulf cooperation and contributing to national economic development.
