Muscat – Marking the spirit of generosity and compassion that defines the holy month of Ramadan, a group of Pakistani community members in Oman has launched its annual Ramadan Ration Drive for 2026, aiming to provide essential food supplies to more than 100 deserving families across the sultanate. The drive was formally inaugurated by H E Syed Naveed Safdar Bokhari, Ambassador of Pakistan to Oman, at Ghuman House in Ruwi, which serves as a central hub for mobilising and distributing the relief packages. During the launch, the ambassador reviewed the distribution arrangements and inspected the ration packs, which include essential items such as flour, sugar, cooking oil, pulses and dates – ensuring that beneficiary families can observe the month of fasting with dignity and ease. H E Bokhari commended the group for their sustained philanthropic efforts. He highlighted the importance of community-driven initiatives in strengthening solidarity and reinforcing the bonds of brotherhood within the diaspora. “The Pakistani community in Oman has consistently been at the forefront of charitable activities. Supporting over 100 families through this initiative reflects the true spirit of Ramadan and the deeply rooted values of compassion and generosity,” he said. The drive is being organised by Ibrahim Ahmed and Syed Zaib Hassan Jaffery, who reaffirmed their commitment to ensuring that the rations reach those most in need. By focusing on low-income households within Oman, the group seeks to ease financial pressures during Ramadan. Members of the group Qamar Riaz, Ahmed Ghuman, Kashif Gujjar, Bilal Yousaf, Usman Hashmi, Ahmed Raza Qadri and Aqib Gujjar were also present at the inaugural ceremony. Beginning in Ruwi, the drive will expand to various other regions across the sultanate.
