ROP seizes huge narcotics shipment in Dhofar

Salalah – Royal Oman Police have successfully intercepted a vessel carrying a substantial quantity of illegal narcotics in the waters off Mirbat. According to an official statement released by the Royal Oman Police, the operation resulted in the arrest of five individuals of Yemeni nationality. The suspects were apprehended while attempting to enter Omani territorial waters illegally with the intention of smuggling and trafficking the contraband. The intercepted boat was found to be loaded with numerous large, wrapped packages containing various narcotic substances. The vessel was tightly packed with the illicit goods, which were being transported via a maritime route frequently targeted by enforcement agencies. The Royal Oman Police have confirmed that the seized drugs and the suspects have been taken into custody, and the necessary legal procedures are currently being finalised against them.
